Our story
The story of Resind Indústria e Comércio Ltda begins with a simple but powerful idea: transforming what was discarded into value — for the industry, for the environment and for people.
In the early 1990s, when Brazil was still in its infancy in industrial recycling practices and environmental awareness was taking its first steps, two professionals with solid experience in the metalworking sector decided to follow a different path. Inspired by the dream of creating sustainable solutions from mining and industrial waste, they began a bold project for the time: building a company that combined technology, reuse and socio-environmental responsibility.
That's how Resind was born in 1996, in the newly created Industrial District of São João del Rei – MG, reprocessing aluminum cans and waste. At that time, only 15% of aluminum cans in Brazil were recycled. Today, that number is close to 100%, and Resind is proud to have been part of this historic transformation in the country.
Over time, the small family business grew stronger. The first furnaces, crushing, grinding and jigging systems, the first alloys and the first customers arrived. With each new challenge, a new process was developed. With each new material, a customized solution. With each partner, a relationship of trust built on transparency and dialogue.
More than growing, Resind has matured as a company and as a purpose.
Throughout its history, Resind has developed custom metal alloys for large clients, recovered strategic metals such as nickel, copper, boron, chromium and tin, and expanded its operations to include the recovery of fine metals and electronic waste — always with a focus on quality, performance and environmental responsibility.
The major milestone came in 2014, when, in partnership with universities in Brazil and Germany, the company developed an exclusive technology to recover tantalum and niobium from industrial byproducts (industrial slag). This innovation positioned Resind as a national reference in the sector and consolidated this process as its main segment of activity.
Today, Resind is a complete company in terms of structure, solid in its values and driven by innovation. It has its own laboratory and an industrial park equipped with induction and reduction furnaces, rotary kiln, drying oven, crushing, grinding, jigging, mixing and magnetic separation systems, among other equipment. This entire process is conducted by a highly qualified technical team committed to excellence.
More than technology, Resind preserves what has always guided it: respect for people, care for the environment and a human and collaborative work environment, where growth is built on proximity and trust.
